John Parker M.D.

John Parker M.D. is Board Certified in General Surgery. He is a graduate of
Presbyterian College, located in Clinton, SC. He earned a Bachelor of Science
degree with a major in Chemistry. He completed medical school at the Medical University
of South Carolina, Charleston, SC and fulfilled his residency requirements at
both Medical University of South Carolina and Spartanburg Regional Hospital.
Dr. Parker served 25 years total in the Army and retired a Colonel. He spent
14 years in Berlin, Germany then 11 years in Fort Jackson, South Carolina.
In 2005, Dr. Parker retired from private practice in Columbia, South Carolina.
He did not want to retire from medicine completely and decided to team with Dr.
Jones to practice together. Dr. Parker worked closely with Dr. Jones for one
year, then moved to the Bluffton area to establish a Metabolic Medical Center.
We are glad to have him and his experience with us.
Originally from Walterboro, SC, he makes his home in the Hilton Head area with
his wife and two children. In Dr. Parker's spare time, you may find him reading
or cruising on his motorcycles. He also enjoys the shooting range.
